The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in its campaign on OPLAN “Pagtugis”, served a Warrants of Arrest (WOAs) against a Regional Most Wanted Individual in Brgy. Mayacabac, Dauis, Bohol on September 11, 2023 (Monday at about 1:30 PM).
After 2 years of hiding, 28-year-old Regel SEGARA HAYAG “Regel Omalon /Eti Hayag” was apprehended by the detectives of CIDG Bohol Provincial Field Unit along with other PNP operating units through the strength of WOAs for Murder (3 counts) with NO BAIL recommended for each crime.
The said WOAs were issued by Hon. Judge Marc Joseph Amar Quirante, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 88, Mandaue City on March 5, 2021, Hon. Judge Mercedita Gozo Dadole-Ygnacio, Presiding Judge, RTC Branch 28, Mandaue City on February 24, 2022 and Hon. Judge Ferdie Esperidion D. Riveral, Presiding Judge RTC Branch 87, Mandaue City on April 20, 2022.
On the report submitted to PMGen Romeo Caramat Jr., CIDG Director, Hayag hid within Dauis, Bohol, and Mandaue City to avoid police authorities after learning that a warrant of arrest had been issued by the court against him. He was listed as Top 7 Regional Level of PRO 7, Top 2 Provincial Level and Top 2 Municipal Level Most Wanted Person.
The arrested accused was brought to the CIDG Bohol PFU office for the standard booking procedures and temporary detention, before the return of the said WOA to the court of origin.
“Ang CIDG ay hindi titigil na tuntunin at hulihin ang mga nagkasala upang papanagutin sila sa batas, bilang tugon sa utos ng ating CPNP PGen Benjamin C Acorda Jr., na binibigyang-diin ang agresibong operasyon ng pulisya laban sa mga wanted criminals upang makamit ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa buong bansa,” PMGen Caramat. ###
