In line with the flagship project, Oplan Pagtugis of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, separate manhunt operations were launched that resulted in the arrest of the Regional Most Wanted Persons in Davao Region and CALABARZON on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.
First to fall was the Top 6 MWP in Davao Region JERRY BARO CABCA, arrested by agents of CIDG Davao City Field Unit together with local police in Buhangin, Davao City for the crime of Qualified Statutory Rape issued by Hon. Zarah Daquila Aguisando-Silvosa, Presiding Judge, 11th Judicial Region, RTC, Branch 33, Davao City, dated March 7, 2023, with no recommended bail.
Likewise, Cabca was also listed as the No. 7 Provincial MWP and No. 1 Municipal MWP.
Meanwhile, CALABARZON’s MWPs RICHARD TITO DIGO and JOSEPHINE CABRERA DE LEON were captured in different operations in Cavite and Rizal.
Digo was apprehended by the CIDG Cavite PFU at Brgy. Sahud Ulan, Tanza, Cavite under a Warrant of Arrest (WOA) for the crime of Rape under Art 266-A (1) in relation to Art 266-B of the RPC issued by Hon. Flordeliz Cabanlit Fargas, Presiding Judge of FC Branch 5, Trece Martires City, Cavite on May 5, 2023, with no recommended bail.
While, 41-year-old Josephine Cabrera De Leon was arrested by combined elements of CIDG 4A Rizal PFU together with Binangonan MPS, 404th A MC RMFB4A, 4th MP RMFC, 3SAB, and 34th SAC PNP SAF at around 7:30 PM in Brgy. Tayuman, Binangonan Rizal for violation of Sec. 5, 1st Para. Art. II of RA 9165 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) issued by Hon. Ma Conchita O Lucero-De Mesa, Presiding Judge of RTC, Branch 70 Binangonan, Rizal on February 14, 2023 for Service of Sentence.
Similarly, the CIDG Regional Field Units across the country have made significant accomplishments that resulted in the arrest of 7 tagged as Provincial MWP, 7 Municipal/City MWP, and 38 accused under Other Wanted Persons.
All arrested persons were brought to their respective arresting units for documentation and proper disposition before the return of their warrant to the issuing court.
This corresponds to the CIDG’s intensified Campaign against Wanted Persons following the order of CPNP PGen Benjamin C Acorda Jr., in the implementation of relentless anti-criminality operations throughout the country.
