
An estimated 25 MILLION worth of counterfeited products were seized by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Lucksys Real State Incorporation II (7-Floor) located at No. 88 Don B Hernandez St., Pasay City on March 1, 2023, at about 1:37 PM to 5:50 PM.
CIDG Director PBGen Romeo Caramat Jr said that the raid was in line with the directive of the CPNP PGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN JR’s call to sustain peace and order in the country and support the government’s efforts to combat economic sabotage.
Through the strength of a Letter of Authority (LOA) issued by BOC Commissioner Bienvenido Y. Rubio, operatives of CIDG-Anti Transnational Crime Unit (ATCU) led by PCOL Zacarias Noel B Villegas, together with Intelligence Division, BOC-CIIS and Philippine Coastguard (PCG) conducted police operation which led to the discovery of voluminous garments, footwears, ukay-ukay, and other merchandise.
Said operation was conducted through CIDG’s coordination and collaboration with BOC and PCG Task Force Aduana.
Seized evidence was sealed and padlocked by BOC, as witnessed by Barangay Officials.
“Our men are currently looking into the individuals responsible for the said smuggling. Pinaalalahanan din ang publiko na huwag tangkilikin ang ganitong mga produkto bagkus ipaalam sa inyong kapulisan ang anumang impormasyon tungkol sa pagbebenta ng mga produkto na iligal,” PBGen Caramat Jr added. ###
