In support of the Peace and Security Thrusts of the CPNP, PGEN RODOLFO S AZURIN JR, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in its police operations over the weekend on March 4 and 5, 2023 aimed at ensuring public safety and security by suppressing criminals.
CIDG accomplished a total of 35 operations and 34 arrested individuals.
Under the Group’s Flagship Project, OPLAN Paglalansag Omega, seven (7) police operations were conducted against Loose Firearms that resulted in the arrest of 3 individuals and the confiscation of 6, and the voluntary surrender of 3 Firearms.
While in the campaign against Wanted Persons or OPLAN Pagtugis, the 22 pursuit operations resulted in the apprehension of 10 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs), one (1) listed as Regional; five (5) under Provincial; and four (4) tagged as Municipal level. Likewise, the arrest of 12 Other Wanted Persons (OWPs).
In the campaign against Illegal Gambling or OPLAN Bolilyo, the conduct of 3 operations led to the arrest of 4 individuals and the seizure of bet money amounting to Php5,229.00.
Another operation was likewise conducted against the Unlawful Destruction of Natural Resources or OPLAN Kalikasan that resulted in the arrest of 4 individuals.
Likewise, in the campaign against Illegal Refinery/Manufacturing of LPG or OPLAN Ligas, the Group carried out 1 operation that resulted in the arrest of 1 individual.
The CIDG was able to record during this period several significant accomplishments.
One of which was the arrest of Primo Macaraig Velasco alias “Turno”, listed as the Top 3 Provincial MWP of Catanduanes PPO and Top 1 Municipal MWP of Caramoran MPS with a Warrant of Arrest (WOA) for the crime of Statutory Rape under Par. (1)(D) Art. 266-A of the RPC as amended by RA 8353 issued by Hon. Genie G. Gapas-Agbada, Acting Presiding Judge of RTC, Fifth Judicial Region, Branch 43, Virac, Catanduanes dated February 3, 2023 with NO BAIL recommended.
The arrest of Dexter Mauresio Manligoy, Top 6 Provincial MWP of Surigao Del Sur wanted for the crime of Robbery, issued by Hon. Merlyn B Pacaro-Canedo, Presiding Judge of RTC, 11th Judicial Region, Branch 29, Bislig City SDS, dated April 3, 2017 with Php100,000.00 bail recommended.
Another was the arrest of Dolcisemo Montera Desabelle alias “Dolsing”, tagged as City MWP of Davao City in E-WARRANT wanted for the crime of Acts of Lasciviousness (RPC ART. 336) with Php180,000.00 bail recommended.
And the arrest of Rickyvelle Espe Liuces for Violation of RA 10175 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Code) through entrapment operation and confiscation of different guns and ammunitions in his control and possession.
