The Operation Officer of the Anti-Crime Task Force of the City Government of Puerto Princesa was apprehended on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at around 1:00 PM in his residence at Purok San Francisco, Brgy. Tiniguiban, Puerto Princesa City by operatives of the CIDG Palawan Provincial Field Unit during the implementation of a Search Warrant (SW).
The said search warrant was issued by Hon. Jocelyn Sundiang Dilig, Executive Judge of the RTC of Palawan and Puerto Princesa City, Fourth Judicial Region, Puerto Princesa City on May 22, 2023, against TABANGAY BADENAS ELMER for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law).
Siezed from Elmer’s possession is a caliber.45 pistol, a magazine for a caliber.45 pistol, 20 pieces of caliber.45 ammunition/cartridges, a black pistol box, and a black sling bag.
In a separate operation, CIDG Camarines Sur PFU operatives conducted a Buy bust against ROLANDO BROQUEZA ALMENDRAL in Brgy. Sabang, Calabanga, Camarines Sur that resulted in the confiscation of one (1) unit cal .45 pistol, one (1) magazine for cal .45, five (5) pieces live ammunition for cal .45, a black pouch, one medium heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu, and a one-thousand-peso bill wrapped together with 21 pieces of the one-thousand-peso bill (Buy-bust money).
Also, CIDG Batangas PFU together with Calaca CPS arrested BRYAN DELOS REYES ACUZAR in Brgy. Sinisian, Calaca, Batangas through an SW issued by Hon. Agripino R. Bravo, Executive Judge, RTC, Lucena City on May 19, 2023, that resulted in the confiscation of one (1) box (MAGTECH) containing thirty (30) rounds of live ammo for cal 45.
All arrested persons along with pieces of evidence were brought to the respective arresting units for documentation and proper disposition. Likewise, criminal complaints for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law) were filed against suspects Elmer, Almendral and Acuzar.
